Work From Home – Updates for the employees of IT Giants

With the regular decline in the Covid Numbers in India, the Government has decided to do away with the Work from Home option. This will be applicable to all its employees. The government asked its employees to attend office as per regular timings. The decision was conveyed by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.

Following the government decision, all eyes are now on the private sector, specifically the Information Technology (IT) Sector. It will be interesting to see what the IT giants like Infosys, HCL and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) decide on the work from home model. Will they decide to continue with the current Work from Home scenario or they will decide to call the employees to the office?

HCL Technologies has in the past, said that the company would take a call on calling people to the office after monitoring the impact of Covid-19.

Cognizant has always maintained that the health and safety of its employees and contractors would remain the top priority.

IT giant TCS in December had said that most of its employees were working from home and any decisions regarding returning to office would be a calibrated move, according to a report by News18. Work from home will be one situation that will be regulated in a staggered manner.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Work From Home

Advantages and Disadvantages

Working from home has its advantages. It’s easier to take care of your family. You can sleep in when you’re not feeling well, and you can avoid traffic jams in the morning. Working from home also has its disadvantages. You may find it difficult to be disciplined in your work ethic. Sometimes you may find yourself too comfortable in your surroundings and not focus enough on your work during the day.
The disadvantages are usually outweighed by the advantages. However, if your work requires a lot of social interaction or face-to-face meetings, then working from home may not be for you.
